Writer. Poet. Journalist. Broadcaster. Artist. Storyteller.
Stories told in words, sound, paint and wood.
Ramin Mahjouri is a writer, poet, journalist and broadcaster whose career spans more than three decades across Persian and Canadian media — and a visual artist whose calligraphic paintings, live edge wood works and sculptures have been shown across western Canada and the United States.
Born in Tehran and at home on Vancouver’s North Shore for more than thirty years, he tells human stories that bridge cultures, where personal history meets collective truth.

A memoir of a boy who fled post-revolution Tehran across the mountains, survived the margins of Istanbul, and rebuilt a life in Canada — a meditation on migration, identity, and the quiet, enduring work of belonging.
Painting
Calligraphic paintings where the poem comes first — Persian letters set loose in colour, many of them painted with a finger on a tablet.
Exhibitions
Solo and group shows across western Canada and the United States.
Painted objects
Candles and bottles hand-painted with Persian calligraphy.
